2025 RAM 4500

Recalls, Specs & Safety Report

Expert Verdict
⚠️Elevated Concerns

The 2025 RAM 4500 demonstrates a concerning reliability profile, primarily due to significant electrical and airbag system defects that could pose serious safety risks. With two recalls already issued, current and potential owners should remain vigilant about these issues.

Key Factor:Significant safety recalls

πŸ“‹Why This Matters

The existence of recalls, especially related to critical components such as airbags and the electrical system, marks a troubling trend for the RAM 4500. The airbag malfunction poses risks in the event of a crash, potentially leading to severe injury or fatality. Additionally, issues with the instrument panel cluster can lead to vital information being obscured during operation, which detracts from driver awareness and controlβ€”a fundamental expectation for any heavy-duty vehicle intended for both personal and commercial use.

Campaign: 25V826000

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Ram Cab Chassis, and Ram 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles. A software error may cause the instrument panel cluster display to be blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems," 105, "Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems," and 102, "Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect."

Consequence

An instrument panel display that does not show critical information, such as warning lights or gear selection, increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and update the instrument panel software or replace the instrument panel cluster, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 8, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's numbers for this recall are B4C and B8C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning December 4, 2025.

Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2025 Ram 2500 Pickup, 3500 Pickup, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Cab Chassis, and 5500 Cab Chassis trucks. A software error in the occupant restraint controller module may cause the driver's side air bag and/or seat belt pretensioner not to deploy in a crash and disable the electronic stability control (ESC) system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems."

Consequence

Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, a driver's side air bag or seat belt pretensioner that does not deploy increases the risk of injury in a crash.
