At about 2:30am after hearing some popping noises I went to the vehicle and saw that the engine under the bonnet was on fire. The fire was seeping out from the sides of the bonnet. The vehicle had been parked since 9:20pm the previous night. I called emergency services including the fire department and the police. It spread very quickly in the Garage where the car was parked and burnt out the garage and the Tesla Plaid parked in the same garage. Firefighters put out the fire with total disintegrated remains. It was just luck that I was awake to catch this at this stage otherwise it would have spread to the house. My 3 children and wife were sleeping. The fire started in the engine of the parked Lincoln Navigator. Visual confirmation of the event is evident.

The foot rails outside the vehicle either don't go up or don't go down. Also, there are several times that the foot rail goes down, and as I step on it, it closes with my foot still on it. Causing me to fall or get my foot stuck between the rail and the car. Fortunately, I didn't get hurt the 4 times that it happened. There is no consistency as to when it happens or any type of warning. The vehicle is scheduled to go in for additional service, but I wanted to file this complaint as it's an extremely dangerous hazard for occupants. Started around the end of June.

SERVICE BRAKES

upon arriving home after a vacation, the NAV experienced complete brake fluid loss and no braking as a result. I investigated the brake lines and one of the lines had been secured to the frame with a clip - this clip was not secure and the brake like was chaffed against the air cleaner housing

The contact owns a 2022 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated while parked in a parking lot on a stormy day, lightning struck nearby the vehicle, and the vehicle lost electrical power. The vehicle failed to start after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the vehicle could not be restarted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.

I was driving and didn't notice this truck ahead of me as I switched lanes. Although fault is questionable since the truck we traveling extremely slow on the highway, my vehicle had plenty of time to stop with the Pre-Collision System. That system is intended to avoid front end collisions and apply emergency breaks if required. IT DIDN'T. I have video of the system failure from my Dash Cam.

Windshield wipers will stop working when driving in weather that requires the windshield wipers. They stop in place and will not move even when trying to move them manually. This is an intermittent problem. The windshield wipers will reset and start working after a period of 6+ hours of the car being turned off. This happened on 12/1/22 and 12/10/22 while driving the car. Car dealership will not assist unless there is failure that can be produced at time of service. Lincoln has been notified and is unable to assist as well.

Both current owners and prospective buyers benefit from reviewing this safety analysis before making decisions.

If you're unsure, we recommend starting with a VIN check or consulting a certified mechanic.

πŸ”‘

If You Own This Vehicle

  • Verify all 10 recalls have been completed using your VIN at NHTSA.gov or through your LINCOLN dealer.
  • Unaddressed recalls pose real-world risks. Prioritize scheduling any pending repairs to maintain vehicle integrity.
  • Proactive tip: Enroll in LINCOLN's owner notification program for real-time safety updates.
πŸ›’

If You're Buying Used

  • Critical: Demand official documentation showing every LINCOLN recall has been satisfied.
  • Investigate whether later Navigator iterations (2023+) rectified these persistent issues.
  • A pre-purchase inspection by a LINCOLN specialist is mandatory given the recorded failure patterns.
