2022 HYUNDAI Nexo

Recalls, Specs & Safety Report

Expert Verdict
⚠️Elevated Concerns

The 2022 Hyundai Nexo presents a noteworthy reliability concern due to a recall related to the fuel system, specifically regarding a potential hydrogen gas leak that could lead to fire hazards. This risk, combined with peak failure occurrences within the first 20,000 miles, underscores the importance of vigilance for current owners.

Key Factor:Fuel system fire risk

📋Why This Matters

The recall involving the fuel system is particularly alarming, especially considering that it pertains to a potential hydrogen gas leak. Such defects pose significant risks not only to adult passengers but more critically to children seated in the back, who might be oblivious to impending danger. The fact that this issue can arise while the vehicle is parked adds another layer of concern for family safety advocates. A manufacturer’s commitment to resolving these issues is vital for ensuring families can travel safely and confidently. In addition to the recall, multiple TSBs related to electrical and engine systems highlight additional areas where owners may experience inconveniences. While these do not pose immediate safety threats like the fuel system defect, they underscore the need for attentive maintenance and awareness among families relying on this vehicle.
