2023 MASERATI Grecale

Recalls, Specs & Safety Report

Expert Verdict
⚠️Elevated Concerns

The 2023 Maserati Grecale's reliability is hampered by multiple recalls affecting critical safety features. With average failure seen at just 5,400 miles, owners should stay vigilant about potential software and lighting issues.

Key Factor:Multiple safety recalls

πŸ“‹Why This Matters

The defects in the Grecale focus primarily on back-over prevention systems and exterior lighting. The software glitches can hinder rear visibility when reversing, posing significant safety risks. Similarly, improper headlight alignment can compromise nighttime visibility, which is crucial for safe driving. With a performance-oriented vehicle like the Grecale, these issues should be addressed promptly to ensure the driving experience matches the Maserati reputation for luxury and safety.

Expert Analysis

Considering the number of recalls in its debut year, the Grecale's reliability is lower than what one would expect from a luxury SUV brand like Maserati. While Maserati has historically made strides in engineering quality, these early hiccups could affect owner confidence moving forward.

CAR KEEPS LOCKING ITSELF, SOMETIMES WITH THE KEYS INSIDE. It is available for inspection. This issue is a major problem as the driver can be left stranded or if there are young children or pets in the car. The dealer has confirmed the problem and has no solution. The car would not go into Park. The park button flickered, and a message appeared on the dashboard stating that the vehicle was too fast to be put into Park, even though the car was completely stopped in a parking lot with the brake pedal engaged. After multiple attempts to press the button and engage the parking gear without success, I turned off the car using the power button, which eventually allowed it to shift into Park. This situation is extremely dangerous. If the parking gear were to engage unexpectedly and hit any objects or people, the consequences could be catastrophic. I have reached out to Maserati with this concern, but it has taken an inordinate amount of time for them to respond. An active case has been opened with Maserati regarding this issue, and it has been documented that, in the event of an accident caused by this malfunction, Maserati would be held responsible and liable.
