2022 JAGUAR XF

Recalls, Specs & Safety Report

Expert Verdict
⚠️Elevated Concerns

The 2022 Jaguar XF shows potential reliability concerns primarily associated with the seat belt pretensioners, which can fail to restrain occupants properly during a collision. Given the peak failure range of 0-20k miles, it's crucial for owners to ensure the recall is addressed promptly.

Key Factor:Seat belt safety issues

πŸ“‹Why This Matters

The potential failure of seat belt pretensioners in the 2022 Jaguar XF is significant due to its direct implications on occupant safety during an accident. In a vehicle that positions itself as a luxury sedan, quality engineering and safety features are paramount, and such defects can lead to severe consequences in critical situations. The fact that there's only one recall indicates Jaguar's commitment to addressing these issues, but the nature of this specific defect underscores the need for vigilance from owners and prospective buyers alike. A clean sheet with minimal defects is generally impressive in any automotive sector; however, when a defect like this arises, it calls into question the thoroughness of quality checks during manufacturing. Jaguar’s reputation hinges on engineering excellence, so ensuring that safety measures function as intended is essential for maintaining consumer confidence in their brand.

Car stalls and jumps out of gear at takeoff leaving us in the middle of the intersection having to turn the car off and restarting it as cars are trying to go around, also car accelerates too high rpm when taking off at low speed

STEERING

My car pulls to the right very hard where I have to hold the steering wheel with both hands. It also pulls to the left very hard and again I have to hold the steering wheel with both hands. It's not out of line. It feels as though its in the power steering which I am a bit concerned. I think it's dangerous to drive. I tried to make an appointment with Jaguar Dealership Service and can't get in until the latter part of next week plus they don't have a loaner which I need. Its a new car (2022) so I feel we should not be having these problems.
