2024 FORD Mustang

Recalls, Specs & Safety Report

Expert Verdict
⚠️Elevated Concerns

The 2024 Ford Mustang shows concerning reliability with multiple recalls affecting critical systems, particularly the brakes and fuel delivery. Issues reported early, typically within the first 20,000 miles, warrant immediate attention from current owners.

Key Factor:Multiple critical recalls

📋Why This Matters

Safety in vehicles is paramount, especially when children are often seated in the back. The identified defects in the service brakes can lead to potentially catastrophic failures on the road. A loose brake pedal not only hinders a driver's ability to stop effectively but also heightens the risk of accidents that can endanger passengers, especially those who may not be securely strapped in. Furthermore, fuel system issues pose a fire risk if leaks occur, illustrating how these technical flaws can dramatically impact overall vehicle safety. For families choosing vehicles with high-performance characteristics like those found in the Mustang, it’s vital to acknowledge that safety must never take a back seat to style or speed. Addressing recalls promptly is essential for maintaining a secure environment for all passengers, especially younger ones who rely on adults to ensure their safety during travel.

Mileage Failure Analysis

⚙️Engineering Insight

Given that peak failure occurrences are noted between 0-20k miles and average failure at just over 6,600 miles, current owners should remain vigilant early in their ownership period. This early timeframe is crucial as it suggests defects can manifest shortly after purchase; therefore, monitoring performance closely during this phase is imperative.

On [XXX], multiple electrical systems on my 2024 Ford Mustang suddenly failed while the vehicle was in normal operation. The following systems stopped functioning: HVAC/climate control, heated seats, outside temperature display, rear turn signals, and blind spot monitoring. No prior warning lights were displayed before the failure. These failures significantly compromised safety because the rear turn signals and blind spot monitoring stopped working without warning while driving. Loss of exterior signaling and driver-assistance systems created a risk of collision. The lack of HVAC also created visibility concerns due to inability to defog windows. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Ford dealer the same day. The dealer confirmed the issue, diagnosed water intrusion into the Body Control Module, and stated that the failure is linked to an open Ford recall regarding BCM water intrusion. The dealer has had the vehicle since 10/21/25, and the BCM and related components remain available for inspection. The repair has been delayed for nearly two months, and the dealer reports they are “waiting on engineering approval” from Ford with no estimated completion date. The defect has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer but has not yet been repaired. The manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle directly, and no police or insurance inspection has occurred. The safety risk remains significant because BCM failure disables multiple critical signaling and monitoring systems without warning. I own a new manual 2024 Ford Mustang GT now with 800 miles. When turning on the unit on 2 occasions, one on November 20 and another on December 3, documented with photographs and videos, the unit presents a black screen with no image. Either in reverse or drive without the possibility of viewing any image. The agency was notified and commented that these failures had never occurred.

The contact owns a 2024 Ford Mustang. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V546000 ( EXTERIOR LIGHTING); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Blown 2.3 Ecoboost. At approx 4700 miles while driving got an engine light and severe misfire. Report from Ford technician says that part of a spark plug broke off in #4 cylinder and caused severe damage. Motor (long block) and turbo replaced under warranty and after 700 miles is running fine.

VISIBILITY/WIPER

While driving approximately 55 mph on a four-lane highway around 8 p.m., the rear window of my 2024 Mustang GT 5.0 Premium exploded/shattered and is now visibly pulling away from the frame. The glass appears ready to collapse inward. Weather conditions were damp with light misting rain and a temperature near 55°F. The rear defroster was not in use, and there were no warning signs or cracks prior to the failure. Only one other vehicle was nearby, so it is not consistent with road debris. The explosion/shatter occurred suddenly and without impact. Photos clearly show the glass shattered separating from the body seam. This presents a clear safety hazard because the rear window could shatter or detach while driving, risking injury to occupants and other motorists. I have photos documenting the damage. The vehicle has not yet been repaired. Ford dealership will be notified when they open in the morning. No injuries occurred, but safety risk is significant. This vehicle is a year old and is garage kept and not exposed to harsh environments. There was no reason for the window to shatter.

I am concerned about a serious safety recall affecting the vehicle. To date, the manufacturer has not taken corrective action, which has placed an undue amount of stress on me. I respectfully request prompt steps to resolve this issue.

The contact owns a 2024 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the infotainment system failed to display pertinent vehicle information. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the system required a software update. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred and had since become a regular failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 1,000.

The auxiliary display that contains the rear camera view failed on several occasions even after the software installation from Ford to fix the failure of this display. The aural alert for cross traffic and pedestrian warning still functions, however, without the display I do not know what is behind or beside the car and from which direction it is coming from when backing out of blind parking spot (between two trucks in the last case). Subject: Request for Investigation - Fraudulent and Falsified Vehicle Records (Crest Ford & Roy O'Brien Ford, Possible Involvement of Bell Ford) Dear Attorney General, I am submitting this complaint to formally request an investigation into fraud committed by Roy O'Brien, an automobile dealership located in Michigan. On [XXX], 1 purchased a 2024 dark horse mustang #R8911 from Roy O'Brien under the representation that the vehicle was brand new, undamaged, and met all safety standards. After the sale, I obtained evidence that the vehicle had, in fact, been in an accident during transport and subsequently altered and resold without disclosure. This constitutes misrepresentation and consumer fraud under Michigan law. Specifically: • The dealership and its employees knowingly concealed the accident and subsequent alterations. • The vehicle was sold as "factory new," despite being materially compromised in safety and integrity. • I paid full market value under false pretenses, believing the vehicle to be undamaged and original. I have retained documentation, communications, and repair evidence that substantiate this fraud, including proof that dealership personnel were aware of the accident. I am prepared to provide all supporting records for your review. This misconduct not only caused me financial harm but also created a serious public safety risk, as the vehicle does not meet proper safety standards. I respectfully request that your office investigate this matter for potential violations of Michigan's Consumer Protection Act and any applicable fraud statutes. Please advise me on next steps and whether additional information is required. I am willing to fully cooperate with your investigation. 1. The vehicle had been in an accident during transport prior to sale. 2. Crest Ford appears to have falsely documented services that were never performed, in an effort to disguise the vehicle's accident history and damage. 3. These falsified service records were used to conspire. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
