Campaign: 25V193000

SEATS:MID/REAR ASSEMBLY:HEAD RESTRAINT

Summary

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2025 Cadillac LYRIQ vehicles. The owner's manual inaccurately describes the rear outboard head restraints. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 202, "Head Restraints."

Consequence

Incorrect head restraint information may lead to improperly adjusted head restraints, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy

GM will mail owner's manual inserts with the correct illustrations and descriptions for rear outboard head restraints, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 30, 2025. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N252492340.

SUSPENSION:FRONT:STABILIZER BAR

Summary

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Cadillac LYRIQ vehicles. The left or right front stabilizer bar bracket bolts may have been improperly tightened, which can allow the bolts to loosen and separate from the vehicle frame. A detached stabilizer bar or bracket can damage the vehicle's high voltage cables or EV battery coolant lines.

Consequence

Damaged cables or coolant lines can result in a vehicle shutdown, causing a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and tighten the left and/or right stabilizer bar bracket bolts, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 8, 2025. Owners may contact Cadilac customer service at 1-800-333-4223. GM's number for this recall is N252494190.

Summary

General Motors (GM) is recalling certain 2026 Cadillac VISTIQ vehicles and 2025 Cadillac LYRIQ vehicles. The bolts attaching the high voltage battery to the interior floor may be missing or loose.

Consequence

An improperly secured battery may become damaged in a crash, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy

I was driving about 40 MPH, message popped "camera blocked, clean front windshield" I did and the message cleared. A few minutes later it came back so I cleaned the windshield again. What happened next shocked me. Without any warning while traveling 30 mph the automatic braking system came on and stopped the car quickly. Thank God for my seatbelt! My backpack that was in the back seat came flying to the front. No warning at all! I called the dealer and brought the car t them. They told me they need to load new software in the car that would take 5-6 hrs. They did the software and told me that it should be all set now. I picked up the car and drove it home. A few days later an incident more alarming happened! I was at a traffic light, car stopped and auto hold when suddenly the car accelerated on its own. I pumped the break several times and the car eventually stopped. I was terrified. I called the dealer and brought the car there the next morning. Dropped it of Saturday morning. I call Monday afternoon and spoke with the service person and he told me they could not replicate what happened and that there were no bulletins from Cadillac. I asked how they tested it and he told me they took it for a ride and also looked for any errors recorded in the cars memory. I said it happened to me once in 2 days so taking it for a short ride will not necessarily repeat what happened. He said they will hold the car and look at a few more things today. I just spoke to the dealer and they told me they drove the car for 15 minutes and found no issues. They also said they are looking for any bulletins on the car. Not sure what the outcome will be but these 2 incidents could have both been very ugly and people could have gotten very hurt. I ask myself...should I be driving this car!

Sudden Acceleration. -I was driving on a highway. I accelerated to pass a truck and when I took my foot off the accelerator the car continued to gain acceleration. The gas pedal had returned to a normal position but the car was still accelerating. I had to put full force on the brakes to get the car to stop. One of my passengers noted that there were flames around one of the brakes. I turned the car off and we waited approximately 45 minutes for the brakes to cool enough to proceed without further incident.

I purchased the 2025 Lyriq new on May 11, 2025. On May 30th with 5400 miles on the car, the front right wheel tie rod snapped off while driving causing the wheel to turn sideways. I was making a turn on a secondary sheet when it happened and was able to pull to the side of the road. Had I been driving on the highway at the time, I could have been killed or hurt another driver. I had the car towed to MacMulkin Cadillac on June 1. The dealership noted that it was bad welding and the car showed rust and rot in that area. It will be 30 days this Monday and no one from GM has been out to investigate.

The contact owns a 2025 Cadillac Lyriq. The contact stated that while driving 5 MPH during dry weather conditions in traffic, the brake pedal was depressed but traveled down to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stood on the brake pedal; however, the vehicle failed to respond and crashed into the vehicle in front that had stopped due to traffic. In addition, the contact stated that the brake pedal jerked while it was depressed. No warning lights were illuminated, and the Crash Imminent Braking system failed. The driver-side and passenger-side air bags did not deploy. The contact suffered injuries to the back that did/did not require medical attention. No police report was filed. The contact drove the vehicle to the residence. The insurance company was not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

ElectricalπŸ”΅ Low
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VISIBILITY/WIPER

The infotainment screen automatically adjusts its brightness based on readings from the ambient light sensor. However, during dusk and dawn, while conditions still appear relatively bright to the human eye, the sensor interprets the light levels as low and significantly dims the screen. As a result, the display can become so dark that it is nearly unreadable. This issue occurs even when the brightness control wheel is set to its maximum setting. The light sensor overrides the manual brightness adjustment, and the control wheel can only further reduce the brightness, not increase it. GM should provide an option to disable automatic brightness adjustment, or update the auto-brightness algorithm to prevent the screen from dimming excessively under such conditions.

I am writing to report a series of alarming incidents involving my 2025 Cadillac, purchased on December 2, 2024. Within three months of ownership, I have experienced three separate occurrences that have caused me significant concern and physical distress. 1 Approximately two weeks after purchasing the vehicle, I was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, I pressed the Pedal. Within three- 4 seconds, I felt a sudden impact from the rear, as if I had been rear-ended. However, upon inspection, there was no visible damage to my car, and the vehicle behind me was approximately 10 feet away. This incident was both confusing and distressing. 2 On a separate occasion, under similar circumstances, I was stationary at a red light. Upon the light turning green, I began to accelerate and once again experienced a sudden, forceful jolt from the rear. No vehicle was in close proximity behind me, yet the sensation was akin to a severe rear-end collision. The jolt was significant enough to cause me considerable alarm. 3 The most recent and concerning event occurred on the evening of February 24, 2025, around 8:00 PM. I was reversing out of a parking spot at a supermarket. Within seconds of shifting into reverse and beginning to back up, I felt an intense impact, as though a vehicle traveling at high speed had collided with the rear of my car. The force was so substantial that I was convinced a serious accident had occurred. However, upon exiting the vehicle, I found no other cars in the vicinity and no visible damage to my vehicle. Medical Following these incidents, I began experiencing severe neck pain. The discomfort persisted and intensified over the course of a week. On the morning of February 25, 2025, I sought medical attention due to the escalating pain. At the hospital, XR cervical spine was performed, and I have been advised to pursue follow-up consultations with specialists. There needs to be an investigation into these Occurrences.
