The 2022 Buick Enclave presents some reliability concerns, particularly with the airbag system, where a harness connector issue could impede deployment during a crash. With three related TSBs in the engine category also noted, buyers should be vigilant about potential repairs.

Safety Alert
Safety Alert: This model has a higher recall frequency (1) than the average BUICK vehicle (0.9). Owners should prioritize checking these components.

πWhy This Matters
Safety is paramount in any vehicle purchase, and the Enclave's single recall regarding the airbag system may indicate significant underlying engineering flaws. The potential for non-deployment of airbags during a collision poses serious safety risks not only to occupants but also adds to long-term ownership costs if repairs are needed frequently. Coupled with several TSBs relating to the engine and HVAC systems, this highlights an area of concern for both current owners and prospective buyers.

Mileage Failure Analysis
βοΈEngineering Insight
The peak failure range of 0-20k miles indicates that issues may surface early in ownership for the Enclave. This suggests that buyers should consider the vehicle's warranty coverage carefully and be prepared for potential early repairs if they plan to keep it beyond initial warranty periods.

Summary
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Chevrolet Traverse and 2021-2022 Buick Enclave vehicles. The harness connector to the left or right side roof rail air bag may have incompatible electrical terminals, which could prevent the air bags from deploying in a crash.
Consequence
Roof rail air bags that do not deploy as intended increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the harness connector to the roof rail air bags, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 29, 2022. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N212352140.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Brake booster has gone out at 100,000 miles. Brakes do not work when vehicle is first started. Problem was diagnosed by an independent mechanics shop. There was no warning light until after the first incident.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING
I have been the owner of this vehicle almost 6 months. My headlights and brake lights do not currently work because of what was diagnosed as electrical failure at the Buick dealership. There are no warranties for this issue specifically aside from the 36,000/3 year warranty which is expired. The dealership mechanics donβt know how to fix this issue and informed me it could be thousands. It poses an extreme safety risk and prevents me from being able to drive my car at any point requiring headlights. Iβve been given a warning from an officer as to my lights being out as it gets dark around 5-5:30 pm. This vehicle hasnβt been altered in any way and has all original manufacturer parts. It has not been wrecked or in any minor or major accident. I am stuck with a βLEMONβ but in the state of SC my vehicle doesnβt qualify. This vehicle has 70k miles. I am the 3rd owner. Buick indicated that these model enclaves have been known to have headlight issues. I do not have an alternative vehicle. I have children. I have responsibilities. I cannot go without a safe vehicle and currently Iβm unable to use my vehicle for the purpose itβs intended because of this issue. I need a replacement vehicle if this is not a repairable issue. I also cannot get new financing as this vehicle has only been financed for 6 months.

The contact owns a 2022 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the daytime running lights failed to function as intended. No warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that occasionally, while shifted into reverse, the rearview camera failed to display an image as intended. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not identified. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000.

I've made 4 car payments with no car..I purchased a Buick with the expectation of quality service..

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
A known defect that was previously addressed in a previous recall on the 2019 model year is still occurring on 2022 Buick Enclaves with no repair offered by GM. The defect causes a large hole to form in the exhaust pipe between the exhaust manifold and the muffler which could leak Carbon Monoxide into the passenger compartment and cause decreased engine performance. In the attached pictures the defect hole noted in the recall exactly matches the hole in the 2 pictures of the underside of my car in the exact same spot is the previous recall identified. Itβs obvious that GM is still producing defective components and parts and placing them on their vehicles after a recall had caused repairs to previous model years.

Mounting bracket for exhaust in front develops a leak at a cross member. GMC is aware of the issue and has refused to honor their extended warranty for the 2021 model year on my 2022 Buick that was delivered in 2021 due to mileage even though the extended service plan extends mileage to 150,000, mi and 15 years. Vehicle has exhaust leak which triggered check engine light. Could also possibly cause carbon monoxide poisoning

SERVICE BRAKES
I have a 2022 Buick Enclave Avenir. I purchased the car Dec 2021. I received a low pressure indicator October 26, 2022 in which I had the tire repaired. The brakes started grinding in December of 2022. I took it to the local dealership several times and have called to report the issue as well. On one visit the brake pads were repaired because of a bulletin received from GM. A few days after the replacement, the brakes are still grinding. (see attached documents) I called the dealership again and was told, I assure you that you are not the only one. There are at least 4-5 other customers in my area having the same issue and there is nothing the dealership can do until they receive instructions from GM. What can be done about this? I am concerned with this issue and would like to see it resolved or get a replacement. I have not received a follow up call regarding this issue from the local dealership or GM. My family is important to me and I am not comfortable continuing to own this vehicle without a resolve.

my 2022 buick enclave was involved in a minor accident that was a stop and go traffic . THE car is supposed to have anti collision sensors in the front grill but the car did not stop or slow down and no warning lights went off , also from the hood had a buckled bacl along with the front fenders and pushed both fenders back a little enough to prevent either front door from opening had to exit through the back seat if the car had caught on fire a person would have not survived , all parts in accident where replaced by the body shop and buick dealer had to recalibrate the collision equipment thanks for any help jeff quicksell

Engine revving, would not shift even after taking my foot off the accelerator. Had to pull over and shut the car off. After restart, it was very hard shifting but the engine wasn't revving, Engine light stayed on. Engine revved between 3,500-4,500 rpms without shifting. The car can be very jerky when accelerating from a stop and shifting the first time or two.
