2024 LINCOLN Nautilus

Recalls, Specs & Safety Report

Expert Verdict
โš ๏ธElevated Concerns

The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus faces significant issues with its visibility and electrical systems, particularly with power window controls that may fail to reverse when detecting an obstruction. This is compounded by the fact that most complaints and recalls are occurring within the first 20,000 miles, indicating early failures that demand attention.

Key Factor:Visibility and electrical concerns

๐Ÿ“‹Why This Matters

Safety is paramount in any vehicle, and the suspect visibility systems in the Nautilus can lead to dangerous situations if windows fail to operate correctly. This not only affects convenience but could also pose a serious risk during an emergency. Given Lincoln's reputation for luxury and reliability, encountering these issues in a brand-new model raises red flags for both owners and prospective buyers.

Summary: The safety trend for the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus doesnโ€™t reflect well against expectations. With multiple recalls so early in its life cycle, it indicates that this model may struggle to uphold Lincoln's traditionally high reliability standards. Concern regarding electrical failures could lead to drivers finding themselves stranded if they depend on features that may not work as intended.

Consequence

A closing window may exert excessive force by pinching a driver or passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Dealers will update the driver door module (DDM) and the passenger door module (PDM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 13, 2024. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24C24.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Summary

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024 Nautilus vehicles. The multimedia module software may cause the panoramic and center displays to reboot, resulting in a blank screen. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 111, "Rear Visibility," and 102, "Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect," as well as FMVSS numbers 126, 108, 135, 138, 208, 101, and 305.

Consequence

A blank instrument display can result in a loss of critical safety information, such as the speedometer and warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, a missing rearview camera display image can reduce visibility of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

The multimedia module system software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25C21.

STRUCTURE

The back rear seat WINDOW on the left-hand side spontaneously exploded while driving around 60 mph on the highway on the morning (10:30 AM ET) of October 7, 2025. All of the pieces blew into the car. There was a loud boom when the window imploded. Had this happened on the driver's window, I would have wrecked. As loud as the window explosion was, I felt as though my ear drums busted. I had to get off the highway as soon as safely possible and pulled into a parking lot to check the damage. That's when I took these pictures. I took it to the Lincoln Dealer directly. There were no warning lights or other noises before the window exploded. There were no cars directly near me.

The issue is with blue tooth phone calls. There is always excessive static while driving for the other person on the phone to the point were is is extremely difficult if not impossible to have any sort of conversation. Inside the vehicle it sounds clear, its the person on the other end that's having this issue and its consistent . All phone types are having this issue. I purchased this car brand new for my wife 10/24 and to not have a standard feature like blue tooth calling not working is unacceptable . In my opinion not being able to utilize hands free calling is a safety issue. It's been to the service dept. at the dealership twice and they can't fix it.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

The contact owns a 2024 Lincoln Nautilus. The contact stated while driving at 20 MPH, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated, and the cruise control activated independently. The contact depressed the brake pedal and the cruise control was deactivated. The Lane Departure warning light was illuminated, while the feature was turned off. The vehicle was driven to the dealer where it was diagnosed with memory seat, memory for the mirrors, and memory failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,300.

More than once while driving, the 48inch dashboard screen and the center touch screen, and power steering and the majority of electrical components would cease to work at all once and without warning. Essentially, the car goes "dark" like a computer that had its power cord pulled from the wall. Twice I had to come to a stop, with minimal ability to steer (no power). Eventually, after about 60 to 90 seconds, the screens rebooted slowly and regular functionality was restored after about another 60 to 90 seconds. This is not the same screen sequence as when you enter your car. Service at the dealership told me there are "various software issues with this new technology, as well as suspension, battery and severe electrical issues, many of which are posted recalls, and others are recalls pending or they have paused fixing until they can deliver new fixes, since previous fixes failed". I took my 24 Nautilus (ICE not hybrid) in for recalls on the suspension and it "going dark" while driving. I was told, and my service records include notes from the tech that also state this, that other customers are experiencing the same issues, and to expect more recalls. โ€œThis vehicle has been a nightmareโ€. Approximately 2 months later I was while driving down a highway exit ramp approaching a crossing city road, the vehicle again "went black". No lights or screen presence or indicators could be seen โ€“ no speedometer, no steering, no safety features such as emergency brake assist or lane assist activated. Zero control of the car. I recall screaming "I have no control! OMG!" My car hit a curb, then guard rail, then flipped and rolled, totaled the car. The driver and passenger front airbags did not deploy, the curtain bags did. I suffered minor injuries but luckily no major ones. I got the car because of all the safety features for my wife and kids. But I'll never buy another after seeing the car lose all power and control three times, the third flipping and rolling uncontrolled.
