2024 ISUZU FTR

Recalls, Specs & Safety Report

Expert Verdict
⚠️Elevated Concerns

The 2024 Isuzu FTR demonstrates a concerning reliability profile with three recalls affecting critical systems such as forward collision avoidance and the fuel system. Given the peak failure range occurs within the first 20,000 miles, early vigilance is essential for owners.

Key Factor:Multiple critical recalls

πŸ“‹Why This Matters

The presence of multiple recalls indicates potential vulnerabilities in key vehicle systems, particularly those related to safety and fuel integrity. The forward collision avoidance system and fuel system issues could lead to severe operational risks, including stalling or accidents. For a commercial vehicle like the Isuzu FTR, which is often relied upon for heavy-duty tasks, these defects can jeopardize not only the vehicle's performance but also the safety of its operators and others on the road.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

Summary

Isuzu Motors Limited (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2019-2024 FTR, 2020-2024 Chevrolet LCF 6500XD, 2022-2024 FVR, and 2023-2024 Chevrolet LCF 7500XD vehicles equipped with a Mobileye Collision Warning System. The Mobileye camera cable may have been routed improperly, which can result in wiring damage and an overloaded electrical circuit.

Consequence

Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, increasing the risk of fire. In addition, wiring damage may cause a loss of turn signal, hazard lights, and/or collision system function, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and reroute the Mobileye camera cable or replace the Mobileye camera cable and T-harness, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 08, 2024. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2401.

This was a rental truck and I am not the owner, just the operator. The headlights are too bright and I have almost been crashed onto when other drivers were blinded by the headlights. I am not sure but believe this is the first year this model truck has these bright led headlights.

This is a long term rental truck, 2024 Isuzu FTR, and not owned by me. The headlights are too bright. Other drivers flash me thinking I have the brights on but they are the regular headlights. My wife was driving in front of me in a car and almost crashed because she said my headlights are too bright and blinded her. The dealer said they are aimed correct and are just bright. The truck is brand new and never been in an accident.
