2024 HYUNDAI Venue

Recalls, Specs & Safety Report

Expert Verdict
Good Reliability

This 2024 model shows good reliability, primarily driven by a below-average recall rate for the HYUNDAI brand.

Key Factor:below-average recall rate

📋Why This Matters

Powertrain issues affect both daily reliability and long-term ownership costs. Unexpected stalling creates inconvenience at best and safety hazards at worst.

Insurance companies review vehicle reliability data when setting premiums. Models with elevated recall rates often see adjusted pricing.

Since buying this vehicle on [XXX] my horn has become completely inoperative a total of three times. I live in Georgia and a working horn is required per GA Code § 40-8-70 (2024) "Every motor vehicle when operated upon a highway shall be equipped with a horn in good working order and capable of emitting sound audible under normal conditions from a distance of not less than 200 feet..". This is not a unique problem to only my vehicle. If you go through your records I am sure you find well over a thousand such instances with Hyundai vehicles. Not having a working horn is not only illegal in Georgia put it increases the risk of getting involved in a motor vehicle accident. Hi! A couple weeks ago i noticed the horn in my 2024 Hyundai Venue Limited was not working. My husband made an appointment to take it in to the dealership for the soonest available date which was about a couple weeks from that day. About a week later, the dashboard screen where you see the speedometer, odometer, etc. went completely black. You couldn’t see how fast you were going, how much gas is in the tank, your tire pressure, and a lot more vital information. This happened on a sunday so the dealerships were closed so I disconnected and reconnected the battery which seemed to temporarily fix the screen issue. Upon investigating online, I found numerous other people who have had the same issue with the horn as well as their screen going black. This is a safety issue because if someone is going into my lane or being a hazard on the road in general, i am unable to use my horn to get their attention which greatly increases the risk of an accident. Also, the screen randomly going black is super dangerous as well because I cannot see how fast i’m going, i can’t see if my tire pressure is low or too high, I can’t see if i need an oil change soon, and so much more. please take this seriously and look into this. thank you for your time!

The Driver Attention Warning (DAW) system on my 2024 Hyundai Venue Limited activates excessively and unpredictably when using cruise control at speeds of 70 mph or higher, particularly during night driving while I am wearing glasses. The alerts occur regularly every 30 seconds to 5 minutes, even when I am actively and safely driving (e.g., both hands on the steering wheel, maintaining focus on the road). The alert includes a loud beep and a distracting visual display with a coffee cup graphic that reads "Consider taking a break" on my instrument cluster that cannot be disabled in the vehicle settings. This creates a safety hazard because: 1. The frequent and unnecessary alerts divert my focus from the road to the DAW system. 2. The system appears to trigger when I check side or rearview mirrors, encouraging unsafe fixation on avoiding alerts rather than normal driving behavior. 3. The distraction has occurred consistently during long trips, such as those from Atlanta, GA, to Madison, MS ([XXX]), and Madison, MS, to St. Louis, MO ([XXX]), and back ([XXX]). Details of the Defect: The DAW system is overly sensitive, misidentifying normal, attentive driving as inattentive. Unlike previous Hyundai models, the system lacks an option to disable the feature entirely. There is also no ability to adjust sensitivity, and even the lowest alert volume setting of 1 is jarring and distracting while driving. The problem occurs specifically when cruise control is engaged at highway speeds, further limiting the driver’s ability to mitigate the issue. The excessive alerts reduce driver focus and increase mental fatigue, especially during nighttime driving. This could lead to an elevated risk of accidents due to distraction and divided attention. This issue impacts multiple models (2023 or newer models) and additional details can be found by searching "Hyundai aggressive DAW alert coffee". I created a case (# [XXX]) with Hyundai about this on 11/26. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

STEERING,SERVICE BRAKES

I bought a used 2024 Hyundai Venue with 3k miles on Nov 2nd, 2024 from Hyundai Bel Air, MD. On Nov 6th, 2024 I dropped my son at the bus stop in our neighbourhood. When I got out from the parking lot (we dropped him at our church's parking lot) and drove the car, the steering wheel was stiff and when I applied the brake it went out. I had to steer the car to the curb to stop it. It stopped but caused one of the wheel flat and its fender fell off. We called the dealer and after a few arguments they tow our car to their body shop. The Service Department's people said two different things. One person said they couldn't inspect the car unless it was repaired which is should repaired by our insurance. The 2nd person said (few minutes later) that they checked the car and nothing wrong with the brakes. They basically said not responsible for it and asked us to report it to the insurance. We don't wanna report it to the insurance yet as we think it was their responsible. We just bought the car few days. How it happened?. This accident scares me to drive the car again. It was good took place in our silent neighbourhood. What if it happened in busy place? We, other could get killed.

I was driving a New 2024 Venue Model car by Hyundai when the electronic system of the car failed or dropped dead and I almost caused a collision. The dash board light iluminated and said start the car in neutral or park. I did this. 3 times the car started sputtered and stopped. Sputtered and stopped. Horns blasting, I had to get out of harms way to avoid a colilsion. I could have been killed. I jeopardized the safety and the life or lives of others on the highway. I will never be the same after this traumatic near accident. Hyundai Manufacturer knew of this defect in March 2024 and sold the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception this car any way on [XXX] 2024. Negligence....... Negligence. Shame on the dealer ship of Sport Hyundai of Egg harbor, NJ. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
