My vehicle is experiencing engine challenges. My check engine light has been on for more that half of this year. I took my car to get a diagnostic , and it was returned reported as normal however the check engine light re-appeared. My car make a noise and does not accelerate properly. My driver door is missing a handle, there was never a handle, the screws to show a handle was placed originally, and one of my seat belts is not attached properly causing my back seats which can go down engage in frequent friction in order to realize seats down. My car is well under 100,000, and it would be completely unfair for me to stay in this faulty contract.

Last week I was driving my daughter’s Venue and the brakes became hard. Crunching noises. I suspected I had dropped my water bottle and perhaps it rolled under the brake pedal. It was hard to depress I heard the same crunching noises as I tried to use the brakes. Drove home 1.5 miles slowly and it continued to occur all the way. I had it towed to the dealer. Been there a week and they cannot replicate it. I mentioned I had an oil change 48 hours earlier. They said the oil had been over filled which they corrected. I contacted Jiffy Lube and they took exception to this. Idk what to do. I am nervous to drive it or return it to my daughter. Dealer wants me to pick it up. We are at an impasse.

Loss of drive power and rough idle. Intermittent no start due to voltage drop. Suspected shorted egr valve causing multiple parts on the same circut to go bad. Brought the car to dealer for the 6th time due to loss of power while driving and rough idle. Asked for a diagnostic of the egr valve due to matching symptoms to the egr recall of the 2024 venue which is the same part number installed in my vehicle. Was informed they can't get it covered under warranty without a code present even if it was faulty. Was sent on my way with a dangerously running car. The egr valve is actuating when not commanded and getting stuck in the opposite position as commanded throwing crankshaft position codes due to being on the same circut and has bèen happeneing since new. My children and my self have almost been in two separate crashes already and if the 2024 hyundai venue egr valve recall is not expanded to include the 2021 there will be fatalities from this issue. My 2021 Hyundai venue at or around 43,000 miles, certified pre owned, and bought January 2024 while at a gas station parking lot. Started my vehicle and put it in reverse to leave gas station began smoking, as I put it back in drive to get out of traffic was a loud noise and I immediately stopped turned off the car. Found two parts from my engine on the ground in the parking lot. Was towed to Bentley Hyundai dealership in Huntsville, Al. This happened on [XXX]. On or about 7/29/2024 Bentley Hyundai did a diagnostic and I was told I need an engine replacement, Hyundai approved the engine replacement, and they ordered parts. On or about 8/7/2024 I asked Hyundai for the repair order and on the paper they gave me said the harmonic balancer/crank shaft broke. I spoke to one of the mechanics at Hyundai as I needed to get some personal items out of my car and the gentleman I spoke with said he doesn’t know how this happened that a bolt broke but that bolt was not supposed to break like it did. Said “it was pretty cool to see” . My vehicle still currently sits at Bentley Hyundai until parts come in. My vehicle was purchased at Tameron Hyundai in Hoover, Al. MY 2021 venue had less than 24,000 miles when this problem occurred. i am the original owner and until recently, worked from home. i started having issues when i put the key in the ignition to start my vehicle. none of the dash lights or A/C control would come on. i had to re-try two to three times to get it to work. when i took my vehicle in for regular maintenance and informed my dealership of the issue they did a diagnostic and called me with the results. i was informed there was a problem with the tumbler in the ignition switch and that it would be covered under my warranty; however, the warranty did not cover the re-keying of my entire vehicle. i would have to continue to use my key fob to unlock my doors but would have an additional key to turn on my vehicle. now i have basically two keys to my car. i do not understand why the warranty would not cover the entire re-keying of my vehicle so that the key fob would work on everything. i am the original owner of the vehicle, which i leased in january 2021 (and subsequently purchased in april 2024 when the lease expired). i find this unacceptable.

POWER TRAIN

Lost all acceleration and car started bucking while making a a left through oncoming traffic narrowly avoiding getting t boned on passenger side of vehicle with my child on that side of vehicle. No check engine light or codes during or after incident. Even though the car was now not idling correctly. had car towed to dealer for the fifth time and they reprogrammed the transmission for the third time. They called to tell me it was ready for pick up. I refused and asked that they diagnose the issue since it has become dangerous to drive the vehicle. They drove the car looking at live data and discovered the transmission was slipping. And replaced the transmission. Someone is going to get seriously injured in these vehicles if the vehicles computer is unable to warn the driver about a catastrophic power train failure. I have had this car towed five times due to issues which assumably were all due to the failing transmission but were non repeatable at the dealer putting me in danger every time I picked it up.

This is a follow up to # 11560029, submitted 12/13/2023. On 12/14/2023, dealership updated the display software that I also previously updated on my own. Dealership unable to update navigation software because my car doesn't have navigation installed. Back up camera issue still persists with camera remaining on in neutral and drive as software update did nothing to correct the issue.

Electrical🔵 Low
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,BACK OVER PREVENTION

The backup camera stays on even in neutral and drive mode. In reverse the guide lines are present, however they are not present when in drive or neutral but the camera remains on. This is a safety hazard because it is very distracting to drive forward with live video on the 8" screen. I believe this is also illegal in my state when my teen is driving the car as state law does not permit drivers age 16-18 to use any hands-free devices when driving. I'm sure this includes live video being displayed even if it is the backup camera. Dealership reproduced the problem. I also have video of backup camera on while driving forward. Dealership service writer told me it "might" be that the navigation system needs updating. I told him I already updated the navigation. He told me to try again and acknowledged that the "process isn't easy". He says this is not covered by Hyundai. Apparently customers are responsible to update navigation/display software, even though my car was purchased brand new at the dealership in May 2021, is less than 3 year old (still under warranty) and has less than 25,000 miles on. The estimate to update the navigation, even though they aren't certain this is the problem is over $585. In Nov. 2021 (3,140 miles) the car was not turning over & starting. The dealership couldn't reproduce the problem, but discovered the horn wasn't working. They stated on the paperwork that I said it was not working, but I didn't not know that was the case. The dealership "energized horn and dislodged coil in horn assembly" and now horn works and coincidentally the problem with the engine not starting went away. The steering also makes a noise on occasion when turning which I suspect is also an electrical issue. All these electrical-like problems pose a safety risk and I am starting to believe they are all connected. I also feel it poses an additional risk to leave software updates to the customers when it involves safety features like the backup camera and display.
