Summary

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Camaro, Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The fuel pump may be missing a pressure regulator, allowing for over-pressurization of the fuel system.

Remedy

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began December 18, 2019. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267. GM's number for this recall is N192283991.

SUSPENSION

The camber plate nut fell off inside the shock causing me to lose control and go through a field. The camber plate is the only thing holding the strut to the vehicle and should have had a locknut from the factory as it's nothing more than a ball joint. It is available to inspect. It caused me to lose all control when it separated. I own a garage and confirmed failure myself. No i called Chevy about it and even asked if they wanted to send a factory rep out to look at it. I was told no and the only way they might be able to do anything is if i take it to the dealer for repairs. It was giving a small clunk at times that i thought was normal characteristics of the aggressive suspension. I do have pictures showing the failure as well if you would like them.

Brakes🔶 Medium
WHEELS,SERVICE BRAKES

Prior to the incident (vehicle crash), immediately after the vehicle was purchased (March 2023), it was taken back to the dealership several times due to a slight noise and sensation the wheels and brakes were making. The issue was internment, and the dealership insisted they were unable to replicate the issue. It felt as if the wheels were momentarily locking when slowing down to apply the brakes. We thought it was a brake issue, but the dealership assured us the brakes were ok. Due to the ongoing issue with the interment, we decided to purchase new tires that were the recommended size for the vehicle, rather than the original tires it Recently (on 09/5/2024), we upgraded the wheels and tires to wider OEM spec wheels in an effort to improve the vehicle's efficiency during driving and braking. On May 25, 2025, after a vehicle brake-checked the vehicle in front of our Camaro, the Camaro was unable to adequately perform the brake operation due to wheel lockup, resulting in an accident. While the vehicle in front of our Camaro managed to maneuver out of the way, the Camaro's wheels locked when decreasing speed to apply the brakes. When brakes were applied despite only traveling at 37-40 mph, the Camaro felt like it was not slowing down, as if the brakes were not working correctly. Forcing a maneuver to the left side, scraping and damaging the front and rear wheels/tires, and impacting the rear end of a 2021 Chevrolet Spark. The Camaro suffered substantial damage exceeding 19,000, and our son, the driver, sustained physical injuries. Unfortunately, we were NOT notified of the recall # N242480630, until June 2 2025 many days after the accident. We received the notification via the OnStar service we pay for, and a few days after via the Progressive Insurance app. A police report was filed, my son was ticketed for failing to control the vehicle, and the insurance deemed it an at-fault accident (due to being a rear-end collision). The vehicle has been deemed a total loss.

POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated while shifting into gears to pull out of a parking space, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, where the TCM was replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that while reversing out of a parking space, the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. The vehicle hit a brick wall and crashed into an unoccupied parked vehicle, which then pushed an occupied vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The side air bags deployed. There was no injury sustained. A police report was filed. It was unknown whether there was property damage. The vehicle was towed to Caliber Collision and was awaiting an insurance adjuster assessment. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V148000(Power Train), which the contact related to the failure; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
