2021 BMW X2

Recalls, Specs & Safety Report

Expert Verdict
Good Reliability

The 2021 BMW X2 showcases decent reliability despite a single recall focused on the seat belts, which is critical for passenger safety. Given the absence of complaints, it suggests that most owners are experiencing satisfactory performance under normal usage conditions.

Key Factor:Single seat belt recall

📋Why This Matters

Seat belts serve as the primary line of defense in protecting passengers during a crash, particularly for children who may be more vulnerable in the backseat. The specific recall regarding the Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) indicates that in certain situations, the seat belt may not extend or retract correctly, potentially compromising its effectiveness during an accident. This is concerning since proper restraint is crucial for minimizing injuries, especially for younger passengers who rely on secure fitting to stay safe.
